It's strange that while I'm typing this I'm enjoying a view of snow slowly falling by my window. This usually happens to me when we're in the middle of a season. When it's summer, I can't wait for winter to arrive, and when it's winter, I can't wait for spring to arrive. Getting this catalog from Saks yesterday didn't help either, but it's good to know that florals are still in. Enjoy a preview of what's to come in the next season, and have a great weekend!

J.Crew 40% Off Final Sale In Stores
For a limited time, J.Crew is having a 40% off adult sale items and 50% off kids sale items in store only. All sales are final.
I've always loved the quality of the clothes that they have at J.Crew. I also love how they style their models in their catalogs. I think the majority of catalogs in my collection are from J.Crew. Here are some pictures for inspiration:

H&M Paris Mon Amour
Paris. The height of fashion and food. My two favorite subjects. What more can anyone ask for?
The reason why I still keep this old copy of H&M Magazine Autumn 2009 is because of the pictures below.
Berets and gold chains and hoops make this look. A thick wool beret can keep you surprising warm (if not you, then your head). Make sure your beret fits snugly on your head, so the wind won't blow it away. Add on some black boots, and you should be covered from head to toe. As for your clothes, I would keep it classic with black lace and a nice coat or jacket.

Free People Holiday 2011 Catalog
I've recently been collecting catalogs, and as I was looking through the Free People Holiday 2011 Catalog, I noticed that they had divided it into chapters. Each chapter featured a different era, and it showcased a different sense of fashion. Looking through this catalog, I realize that it is important to always experiment with fashion. Sometimes I would see something that looks awesome on the model in a catalog, only to buy it, try it on, and have it look nothing like what I imagined it to look on me. And that's fine. Just never stop experimenting and trying different things (and don't forget that receipt for returns!).
Without further ado, I give you some of my favorite looks:
Without further ado, I give you some of my favorite looks:
CHAPTER ONE: The 1920s
Paris in the twenties -- a magical place and a magical time.
Where the "Lost Generation" found itself and found its voice in Left Bank cafes and cabarets.
Gertrude Stein and Ernest Hemingway.
James Joyce and Pablo Picasso.
Josephine Baker and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Freedom, jazz, and love and joy.
CHAPTER TWO: The 1950s
It was a cheerful time -- the War was over, the bad guys were gone, and America truly was the world's last best hope.
Corn on the cob and apple pie.
Drive-in movies and long summer nights.
High school heroes and soda-fountain romance.
And that exciting, exciting new music, coming up north from somewhere down south.
CHAPTER FOUR: The 2010s
The "twentytens" -- the year of the iPhone and mad technology.
Everybody is somebody.
From Facebook to Twitter to Instagram to reality TV, nothing is too formal.
You can wear a sequined pencil skirt with your favorite rock tee -- embellished with studs -- and Grandma's handknit chunky cardigan.
It is the time of the nouveau grunge era, decadence mixed with a relaxed, laid-back look.
